Not yet translatedThe monster appeared in the least expected moment.
He was black, huge and scary. Everything indicated that he wanted
to devour me. At first I wanted to run away, but he came at night
and there was nowhere to run away. I had to defend myself,
although the fight was uneven. The monster's head was clad
in steel, preventing me from seeing his real face. I could
only see his black armor. But I could not guess how the monster
looked like without it. I guessed that he had an old and
deformed body.
Then one day, when he swung his sword at me, I managed to
pair the blow in such a way that the monster staggered.
And then something fall out of his upper coat pocket,
a document. I managed to pick it up and read his age.
He was 74 years old, slightly less than three times
older than me. He was indeed a terrible old man !
I managed also to read another snippet of the document
and to my surprise it was my own name written there !
Obviously, the monster was impersonating me, or
planning to do so.
Almost every day I fought againts him, preventing him
from davouring me completely, although he was quite close to it
- right there. Over the years, I learned to fight against him,
and then, as I'v got elder, the terrible truth began to
approach me - this monster was me, although comming from
the future ! At the age of 74, I returned to my earlier life
as a 20-years-old man, wanting to destroy, beat and devour me.
Where does such a strange need come from ? - I asked the monster.
It turned out that his life was not less scary than he was himself
and for this life, which I prepared for him by my deeds and omissions,
he wanted to revenge on me now.

Christian ethics is based on moral
commands given to us from God.
However, in Buddhism, as much as I got known it, ethics is
based on man's own insight into oneself, his own fears,
desires and needs. There is no external command.
Ethics comes from understanding oneself on his own. |
